The FAIR FUTURE TEAM (Aralica, Mandl, Lienhart) met Tihana Peic and Maja Balasko of the city of Koprivnica to discuss all the details for the upcoming DEPART Conference in the chamber of commerce of Koprivnica.

The conference is the third in a series of five conferences which are organized by EUROPEAN NEIGHBOURS on behalf of the city of Graz >> in conjunction with 8 international partners under the title DEPART.

Networking and projects launched

Networking and projects launched: objectives reached for the contact seminar organized by AEF-Europe!

Dedicated to educational methods to fight educational inequalities, the seminar was attended by 60 participants from 17 european countries. For two days, from the 30th of November to the 2nd of December, they were able to exchange, brainstorm and work on future joint projects.

Inspiring practices
First objective reached: to stimulate reflection around the theme of the seminar!
Case Studies on Relegation in the school system and presentations by Teach for Belgium (coaching teachers working with pupils in difficulty) and Toekomst-Workshop of the Future (extracurricular accompaniment of disadvantaged children) have nourrish the discussions.

Support for project management
The essentials of project management were discussed: identification of needs and stakeholders, definition of the objectives and the strategy to be adopted. What is the added value? To provide participants with project management concepts and tools, prior to any Erasmus + application.

2. DEPART CONFERENCE Pecs

Graz, City of Human Rights, invited together with the municipalty of Pécs and EUROPEAN NEIGHBOURS to the second of five international Roma-conferences.

The city of Graz was awarded for the project DEPART under the EU program "Europe for Citizens" together with the partner towns Marburg (SI), Pécs (HU), Koprivnica (HR) and Prato (IT).

The second event, entitled " THE POSSIBILITIES FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING ESPECIALLY FOR ROMA COMMUNITIES " should serve as a basis for integration, innovative approaches and ideas for creating ways in education and training.

Among the 150 registered guests: Councillor Sissi Potzinger as representative of the mayor of the City of Graz Siegfried Nagl, the deputy mayor of the municipality of Pécs, high representatives of Roma organizations, Jan Hero (ministry Slovakia), director Virag Bertalan (Gandhi Gymnasium), director Jana Tomova (Sukromne Gymnasium), representatives of the Hungarian ministry, representatives of the university of Pécs and many more

Cooperation Wies

DI Lengauer the head of the plant experimental station in Wies has assured further cooperation with the FAIR FUTURE Team and the intensification of the partnership was discussed in detail. The Styrian garlic goes into the second planting period and also a new field of organic garlic will be planted this fall in Wies.

FAIR FUTURE >> LEADER

Dr. Rabl the representative of the leader region "Hügelland - Schöcklland" was visiting EUROPEAN NEIGHBOURS to discuss possible collaborations. Moreover, the proposal for one or several joint projects was discussed. In the next step a preconcept for submission will be written.

The FAIR FUTURE team is grateful for the help and is looking forward to a close cooperation!

5 YEARS EUROPEAN NEIGHBOURS - FAIR FUTURE

After five successful years the eco-social success-story starts into the next dimension!

The city of Graz and EUROPEAN NEIGHBOURS invited a high-profile panel of experts to a competency workshop of a special kind into the city hall of Graz. High-ranking representatives from the fields of labor, agriculture, social affairs, education and science developed solutions for the planned "FAIR FUTURE© Competence Center" and the "FAIR FUTURE© Training and Educational Initiative with a Jobboard". There was a clear commitment on the part of representatives of the City of Graz for the expansion of activities of EUROPEAN NEIGHBOURS to promote the Styrian farmers and the economy and permanently integrate long-time unemployed people, asylum seekers and recognized refugees into different skill levels of the labor market.

HARVEST 2016 FAIR FUTURE BIO GARLIC

This week the harvest of the FAIR FUTURE BIO GARLIC began on the fields of Alt-Grottenhof in Graz. As part of the ECVET AGENT pilot training course the trainer Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Friedrich Leitgeb and the course participants (Caritas Graz) started the by-hand-harvesting.

The group is progressing well and all the conditions for a gentle drying are given thanks to the weather.

The next step is the preparation of garlic for commerce and the production of new FAIR FUTURE products.

Special thanks to the school and its staff, Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Friedrich Leitgeb and the women of the Caritas! We are very proud to have such a motivated team!

Europe 2020: "New Skills for New Jobs"

With the increasing cultural diversity in Europe and the constantly changing labor market needs intercultural competence is a key qualification. Companies are recognizing more and more the positive effects of various teams on productivity and corporate culture. Intercultural competence and the importance of cultural diversity were at the core of the annual conference "New Skills for New Jobs" which was organized on June 22nd in Vienna. The conference was organized by the National Agency Erasmus + Education in the OeAD GmbH in cooperation with the Association of Industrialists.

Congress Award 2016

At the ceremony of the Congress Awards 2016 Graz on Thursday, June 23, organizers and presenters from academia, research, industry and nonprofit organizations were honored for their outstanding services as ambassadors of the city in the Messe Congress Center Graz. Ambassadors in the sense that they organized local, national and international conferences and congresses in Graz and thus not only brought internationality and nights to Graz, but also significantly contributed to the image building of the city.

Franz Griesser. After presenting the new FAIR FUTURE © concept the possibilities of a cooperation according to the topics planting garlic, competence center and BBK project were reviewed and discussed.
